Staging, also known as decking, risers, or platforms, is the literal foundation of scenic design for corporate events. In its most basic function, staging serves to elevate presenters and performers, thus allowing a clear line of sight for audience members. In addition, staging creates boundaries for the performance area, separating the audience from the performers. Staging also plays a psychological role, because it gives those standing on the stage the illusion of authority and aids in commanding the audience’s attention. In a curious way, the higher the stage, the more important the event will feel in the audience’s subconscious.
The quality of staging can also sway an attendee’s opinion of the event as a whole. If old, banged-up house decking is used, the event will feel like a typical meeting held in a typical venue. In contrast, if the staging is composed of strong, good quality staging like ours, the audience’s perception will be they are attending a very special event.
Determining the best staging for an event is important, but it’s easy when you know your options and needs. Many factors play into this decision, including budget, venue and audience size, direction of video projection, how the stage will be used, and requirements contained in entertainment riders. The more of these factors that can be determined early in the design process, the more likely you are to pick the best stage for your event.
Stage deck staging is a modular structural design but has the added strength of aluminium or steel legs. Our decks are typically 2m x 1m in size but we have many shapes and angles to make your design.
Each board is 12 mm thick and comes with a dark brown finish, plywood panel
The decks have coated, relief profile 6-point. (HEXA "anti-slip”), surfaces and can be used in wet conditions also.
Height of our stages can be 300mm, 400mm, 600mm, 1000mm or 1200mm.
We take Health & Safety very seriously at Stage Men, with this we install handrails to any stages over 600mm in height from the ground surface. These handrails will have a mid-rail also.
Consider what your stage will be used for when deciding what height to have your stage built. Consider the height of the existing location and allow for any objects which may obstruct the view such as light units.
We must be informed of the ground surface condition for where you wish your stage to be built.
At Stage Men, ALL stage hires come delivered, installed, dismantled and collected by a team of our experienced staging engineers. They will ensure that your stage is installed correctly and confirmed to all current HSE standards.
Please inform us ahead of any hire or quote of access details, especially if access has stairs, steps, or a narrow entry.
We must also be informed of the install and de-rig times so that we can allow enough time to safely build your stage.
The best advice we can give is: function over form. If a performer or presenter cannot safely navigate the step unit or ramp then the access if incorrect. Consider if the people who will be taking to the stage are familiar with stage stairs or just those found in homes and buildings. Ramps and steps can do more than simply provide a way onto the stage.
Our steps come with adjustable height from 600mm to 1200mm and come with angled handrails with mid-rail.
